This is creative, fun and multifunctional furniture design called “Land Peel”. This “Land Peel” designed by Shin Yamashita, a student at the Kyoto Institute of Technology. You might think this is a lot like ordinary mats that are sold in the market, but look closer, you’ll find something extraordinary does not like you imagined. “Land Peel” made by panels which can be lifted in order to create various furniture objects. Land Peel can turn into a comfortable seating item, a table or a writing desk just by doing a few simple moves. When it is not used, it can simply be packed up and stored in a locker somewhere. I think this design is inspired by the needs of students on versatile furniture and easy to use. – via – FH
