Monk’s Shadow is designed to divided into: parents zone including master suite, primary family and entertainment functions, the teenager zone including bedrooms, game room, pool access and one of two garages and guest zone including a bed/bath suite and small great room that doubles as the owner’s home office. Located in Guadalajara, Mexico this house was designed by Agraz Arquitectos for a couple with two daughters. The owner has plan to renovating their house with modern contemporary style. There are three levels of renovation by the architect for this house; A basement includes a garage, service and a games room and a staircase that connects the entire house. On the ground floor kitchen, hang family room is located. All these areas of the central courtyard surrounded. Three bedrooms are located on the third level, but they still have good relations with the outside areas through the terrace. The interior is done in a modern contemporary style. From the architects “……Each house is approximately 500sqm, stretched along the relatively narrow sites from road to sea. Each has three two storey elements linked by narrow circulation routes. this strategy ensures light and spaciousness infiltrate all spaces within the building and creates intimate light-filled courtyards landscaped with flowing water and sparse planting. A rich variety of spaces exist within the buildings, ranging from double-height living areas open to the sea views, to more internalised lounges nestled into falling land at the more road end of the sites.”.
